Tech Support: Back up drive not found. Error message 0x8100006. How do I fix this?

Back up drive not found. Error message 0x8100006. How do I fix this?

Why do I get error0x81000006, "cannot find disk where the backups are being saved"?  I am using the Windows 7 backup.
The external backup hard drive is  connected via 2 USB ports.
It is identified under "My Computer"  Previous 2 backups have worked fine.

1.       What is complete and exact error message that you receive?
2.       Have you made changes to the computer prior to this issue?
3.       Are you using Windows Backup and Restore feature or any third party software to take the backups?

Method 2: How to Grant Permissions in Windows 7
a.   Locate the file or folder on which you want to take ownership in windows explorer
b.   Right click on file or folder and select“Properties” from Context Menu
c.    Click onEdit button in Properties windows Click ok toconfirm UAC elevation request.
d.   Select user/group from permission windows or click add to add other user or group.
e.   Now under Permission section check the rights which you want to grant i.e.
check“Full Control” under the“Allow” column toassign full access rights control permissions to Administrators group.
f.     Click OK for changes to take effect and click ok final ok to exit from Properties window.
g.   Now check if you are able to backup.
