Auto-tuning does not give optimal network performance
"auto-tuning optimizes performance".
When using iperf on a 10Gbps link (the
iperf server is a Linux box), the best result is 2.3Gbps.
If specifying a 1MByte TCP Window Size using the -w option of
iperf, the result gets boosted at 9.85Gbps! It means that the TCP Window Size is far from optimal, be it auto-tuned or not.
How can we set the default TCP Window Size to a more convenient value (1MByte for 10Gbps)? Disabling auto-tuning gets worse results < 1.5Gbps.
Thanks in advance for any hint.
