Hi,
·        Which operating system do you use?
·        Which version of internet explorer do you use?
·        Were you able to load favorites before on the system without any issues?
·        Do you remember making any changes to the system?
·        Did you change the location of the favorite’s folder?

If you have changed the location of the favorites folder then I would suggest you to move it back to the default location.

Check whether the links are added to the favorite’s folder in C:\
Follow the steps mentioned below.
a.       Click on Start menu and click on Computer.
b.      Click on C: drive and locate Users.
c.       Click on your name ‘User name’.
d.      Click on the favorite’s folder and check whether the links are added there.

Step 1:
It might be that your security software or firewall is not allowing you to add those particular sites.
I would suggest you to disable them and check whether you are able to add the sites to favorites.

Firewall: frequently asked questions

Note: Once done with testing, turn on the security software and firewall on the system.

Step 2:
It might be that some add on is responsible for this behavior.
I would suggest you to run the Internet Explorer in no add-ons mode and check.
Follow the steps mentioned in the article given below.
a.       Click the Start button and click All Programs.
b.      Click Accessories and click System Tools and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
If the issue does not persist in the No add-ons mode then, it means that some add-ons are causing this issue.
I would suggest you to disable one add-on at a time and check.

Step 3:
Enable the Protected Mode for Internet Explorer and check if you can fix the issue.
a.       Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools.
b.      Click on Internet Options and under the Security tab check the box for “Enable Protected mode”.
c.       Restart the Internet Explorer now and check.
